FAQ's

Here are the answers to frequently asked questions
Do you do house checks to know the right type of AC to use?

Yes we do. A site inspection will be conducted and the correct sized system will be recommended to you.

Do I have to clean the filter by myself?

You can clean the filters yourself if you feel confident in doing so, otherwise this task will be conducted as a part of a preventative maintenance / service.

How often does air conditioning need to be replaced?

Depending on the severity of the repairs, sometimes it is more feasible to replace then to repair!

Keep in mind some spare parts from the manufacturer do not come with a warranty.

Why should I have regular (or preventative) maintenance? And how often should I have it performed?

As a part of your manufactures warranty, you must have your system regularly maintained by a licensed air conditioning / refrigeration technician for a minimum of 1 time per year to uphold your warranty.
A regular maintenance is highly recommended as this will identify any issues or faults that have occurred with out you knowing about it until its too late. There have been many cases where air conditioning units have caught fire both indoor and outdoor units due to poor or lack of maintenance.

How long before you can get to a location?

Depending on the season at hand, it could be on the same day or up to a few days of the call being made.

Do you clean air conditioning units?

Yes. One of our other services is an indoor and outdoor coil cleaning. We carefully remove the indoor cover and apply a non-odour bio degradable chemical to rid bacteria and mould build up on your indoor unit, the filters and in areas you cannot see.

Outdoor coil cleaning is done with the use of chemicals to unblock the condenser coil blockages for greater air flow and heat distribution.

I got a good deal on an air conditioner do you install brands you don’t sell or haven’t sold?

Yes we install any brand of air conditioner unit, however, we always like to remind our clients that cheap is not always better. Whilst savings might be made initially, it could cost you much more in the longer term. A tip, make sure you keep up to date with regular servicing

What method of payment to do you accept?

How long will the service for my AC take?

Generally 1 to 2 hours but this is dependent on the size, location and accessibility (whether ladders or cherry pickers are required) to the Air Conditioning unit/equipment.

Do I need to have an appointment or can I just call you for the service?

To guarantee a specific time bookings are recommended, however depending on our location and timing we could be around the corner and be there soon.

Does my air conditioning unit need re-gassing?

Air conditioning units only need re-gassing if:

-They have lost their gas charge from a gas leak somewhere in the system.

-If a system is deemed to be short of refrigerant and most air conditioning units being critical charge with refrigerant, the remaining refrigerant in the system will need to be reclaimed, find the cause why the system is low in refrigerant, then correctly weigh in the required refrigerant to the manufactures specifications.

My electrician can do the job cheaper, can you!

Most electricians are not licenced to install, repair, service or conduct warranty works on your air conditioner. Some are not licensed to handle or purchase refrigerant.

We hold the ARC Tick (Australian Refrigeration Council) license.

The Tick identifies a business or individual as being authorised to install, service and repair fridges, freezers and air conditioners.

Without it they may be operating illegally, so always ask to see their licence before they begin their work.

Going cheap is not always good work…….and good work is not always cheap!
